Day 1: Fly to Mekelle - Drive to Dodom - Erta Ale Volcano
Fly to Mekelle and drive to Dodom at the base of Erta Ale. Trek 9.5 km to the volcano rim. Overnight camping at the summit, witnessing the permanent lava lake.
Day 2: Dodom - Lake Afdera - Hamedela
Descend from Erta Ale and drive to Lake Afdera, known for salt extraction. Continue to Hamedela village to experience Afar culture. Overnight camping in Hamedela.
Day 3: Hamedela - Dallol - Mekele - Hawzen
Morning visit to Ragad salt mines. Explore Dallol?s colorful geothermal formations, Lake Assal, and camel caravans. Return via Hamedela and drive to Hawzen. Overnight at Hawzen Vision Hotel.
Day 4: Abune Yemata & Debre Mariam Korkor - Addis Ababa
Excursion to Abune Yemata Guh and Debre Mariam Korkor, dating back to the 6th century. Visit Abba Daniel?s Prayer Room before returning to Mekelle for flight back to Addis Ababa.
