  This is the highlight of Addis Ababa half day city tour. Addis Ababa means New Flower. This half day city tour covers Mount Hills (NOT ENTOTO PARK), National Museum, Entoto Maryam Church and Merkato Market. You will meet our team at the airport or hotel and begin sightseeing with our first stop at Entoto Maryam Church, one of the oldest Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahdo Churches on the Entoto Hills. Built in 1877 by Emperor Menelik II, it is characterized by octagonal domes and houses royal artifacts including traditional costumes, crowns, jewels, and a mirror gifted by Queen Victoria to Empress Taytu. The second stop is Entoto Hills (NOT ENTOTO PARK) for a panoramic view of Addis at 2900 MASL. The third stop is the National Museum, home to precious archaeological finds such as the fossilized remains of early hominids, most famously Lucy, the partial skeleton of Australopithecus afarensis. Recently added is a display on Selam, dating back 3.3 million years. The fourth stop is Merkato, Africa?s largest open-air marketplace, established by the Italians in 1937, covering several square miles and employing thousands of people. Finally, you will return to your hotel to end the tour.
