• Day Trip to Bishoftu
  A day trip from Addis Ababa to Bishoftu (Debre Zeit) in the Oromia Region offers a scenic escape just 45 km away, roughly an hour?s drive.
• Morning Coffee & Lake Hora
  Departing from your hotel or residence around 7:30 AM, you'll travel by private car or van along a well-paved road. Upon arriving in Bishoftu around 8:30 AM, start with a traditional Ethiopian coffee at a local café before heading to Lake Bishoftu (Lake Hora) for a peaceful lakeside walk, birdwatching, and photography.
• Afternoon at Lake Babogaya
  After lunch, visit Lake Babogaya for kayaking, canoeing, or relaxing by the water. You may also meet local artists and lodge owners. Later, explore cultural or historical stops such as the Green Crater Lake (Lake Chelekleka) for birdwatching or a small art gallery. End the day with coffee or juice at a local café before returning to Addis Ababa around 6:00 PM.
• Kuriftu Resort & Other Lakes
  By 10:00 AM, drive to Lake Bishoftu Guda for panoramic views and optional boat rides. Lunch at 12:30 PM can be enjoyed at Kuriftu, Asham Africa, or Babogaya Lodge. The trip is enjoyable year-round, with mornings offering clear views. Birdwatchers may want binoculars to spot pelicans, herons, and ibises.
