Duration:

? 6:30 AM - Departure from Addis Ababa
Pickup from your hotel/residence. Travel ~35 km east by 4WD vehicle or van. Bring water, snacks, sunscreen, hat, camera, hiking boots, and a light jacket.
? 8:00 AM - Arrival at Base
Short briefing by guide, warm-up, and preparation of hiking gear before starting the ascent.
? 8:30 AM - Begin Hike
Moderate trail with occasional steep patches. Enjoy highland forest, wildflowers, and bird species like Lammergeier and Augur Buzzard. Possible sightings of colobus monkeys or hyenas.
? 11:00 AM - Summit Experience
Reach ~3,100m summit. Relax, take photos, and enjoy panoramic views of the Rift Valley, Debrezeit, Bishoftu, Lake Babogaya, and Koka Dam.
? 11:30 AM - Begin Descent
Take an alternate scenic route, spotting more wildlife and local flora along the trail.
? 1:00 PM - Picnic Lunch
Enjoy a pre-packed picnic lunch with Injera rolls, tibs, boiled eggs, fruit, and juice/water. Optional rest under trees or visit nearby farm/village.
? 2:30 PM - Optional Cultural Stop
Visit a nearby Oromo village or market to learn about local customs, language, and daily life.
? 4:00 PM - Drive Back
Scenic drive back to Addis Ababa, spotting rural life and animals along the way.
